VTC’s grants ranged from $750 to a maximum of $2500 for projects from November to March this year.
While the maximum grant amount was lower, a reduction VTC’s Executive Director Sarah Fox attributed to lower MAT revenues, more grants were awarded: 15 as opposed to 12 last year.
“Because the MAT income is volatile and we dedicated 5% of our annual budget to the Community Partnership Fund, lower revenues from 2024, which fund our 2025 budget, resulted in a bit less to distribute,” she explained.

In 2024, up to $3500 was awarded per event, with a total of 12 events supported and 15 applications.
This year, up to $2500 was awarded per event, and 15 of 16 applications were successful.
“Those who were not awarded funding did not meet the eligibility criteria,” said Ms. Fox.
Overall, the program is booming.
“We’re thrilled to support a range of events that appeal to diverse audiences, from the Slake Snake Hill Climb, which draws cycling enthusiasts, to the new SWANA PEC Festival, celebrating the vibrant traditions, arts, and cuisines of Southwest Asian and North African communities,” said Ms. Fox.
“We also see value in supporting some of the more community-based events, ones visitors may well be interested in attending, or that have the potential to grow to attract out-of-towners, such as The Regent’s Family Day Weekend Festival or the Stone Soup / Harvest Market by the Picton Farmers Market. That will feature local chefs and local food producers and will be a huge draw across the County.”
